Giving is, of course, right at the heart of Buy1GIVE1. But not just ‘giving’ - it’s sharing the joy of giving through the magic of B1G1 transaction-based giving, every second, every day and in every way.

Three steps of your giving

Once you become a B1G1 Business, your giving begins by you partnering with your selected Worthy Cause. You simply follow these steps:

1. Choose which of your products or services you want to make Buy1-Give1
2. Decide how much per sale you want to give
   (and it can be as little as just 1 cent – that gets a child in Africa access to pure water for a day)
3. Select a project that resonates with you, your team and your existing and potential customers that closely matches the amount per sale you’ve decided on in step 2 above.

When you do those last two steps, you instantly create a powerful story that dramatically increases the ‘attractiveness of your business (compare, for example these two propositions: we give 10 per cent of our profits to charity; every time you buy our coffee, a child in Africa gets access to clean water for a day. That’s the power of a transaction-based story right there! And there are a myriad of ‘stories’ for you to select from – or you can even create your own).

Create your giving story 

Once you’ve taken those 3 simple steps, everything is then automatic. For example, let’s say you decided to make a ‘widget’ that you sell for $70 one of your B1G1 ‘products’. And let’s further imagine that you decide you can afford to give say $2. Then that would allow you to create a story like this: when you buy our widget, you give a child in New Zealand access to a bike for a day as part of a program to tackle obesity. Or, you could create this story, ‘when you buy our widget, you feed one person for a week in Kenya.’ You get the picture. And it goes all the way up to developers who are now able to say ‘when you buy our home, we help house a family in Cambodia for life’. And right now, there are nearly 600 projects and stories for you to select from directly on the B1G1 site once you’re a B1G1 Business.

And getting back to your ‘widget’, at the end of the month the B1G1 system simply ‘asks’ you ‘how many widgets did you sell? You say 100. And so the system says ‘OK, then that’s 100 *$2 = $200’ and essentially you click a button and 100 per cent of that amount (under your control of course) goes off directly to your selected cause.  Simple. Efficient. And effective.
